Paul has 17 years experience of ceramic wall and floor tiling in the north east, and boasts an impressive portfolio of domestic, commercial and industrial work. He works with stone, including crema marfil, marble, slate, mosaic, and of course ceramics. An approved Karndean installer, he won Karndean’s esteemed award for best floor fitter. Paul has numerous private domestic clients, while his industrial and commercial clients range from award-winning developers such as Rivergreen to local restaurants with the finest reputation, such as the Pavilion at Iveston.Neil Andrew
Neil is a time-served floor layer based in Lancashire, and has a vast 29 years experience. An expert in his field, Neil was Technical Services Manager at Karndean for 6 years, where his role involved research and development, problem solving and product development. Well-known and respected in the world of floor laying, 90% of the floors in the current Karndean catalogue were layed by Neil himself. He also wrote the Karndean floor-laying training programme. Well-known by many in the Preston area, Neil ran his 'Neil Andrew Flooring' business from Plungington Road. Since then Neil has developed two ingenius tools for the production of bespoke, economical strip designs, the strip cutter and the hand cutter. Video coming soon!Vinyl Restoration
Vinyl restoration is another of Paul's and Neil's skills - throughout the north east and north west they can restore scratched vinyl floors to their former glory. Trained at Dr Schutz's Head Office in Cologne, their services include the application of polyurethane coatings to new/damaged or worn vinyl, rubber, concrete or industrial floors. For example, anti-slip polyurethane, which has clear health and safety benefits on floors subjected to heavy traffic, is designed for use in commercial environments such as shops and public buildings such as schools and libraries. The British standard for measuring anti-slip floors, R10, is guaranteed.
Stone Restoration
Stone restoration is another service offered by Paul in County Durham and throughout the north east. In most cases a stone floor can be restored via cleaning, buffing, polishing, or sealing to a condition better than first installation. Finishes can be matt, satin or gloss top coat, using the conventional method of re-applying a good quality sealant or applying a polyurethane coating in a selection of matt, satin or gloss. This finish should, in normal household traffic, be sufficient for a minimum of five years. Certain areas can receive an anti-slip coating which exceeds British Standard R10 rating, with no obvious colour change. For more information visit the Restoration section >
